Protecting Aviation To Keep Massachusetts Moving

The MBAA is a not-for-profit association founded to promote and advocate for business and general aviation interests within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  We understand and give voice to the needs and interests of corporate flight departments of major corporations as well as those of individual aircraft owners.  The MBAA addresses and responds to the full range of issues impacting the business and general aviation community within Massachusetts including safety, security, operational effectiveness, community and government relations, and environmental concerns.

Our members include some of the largest corporations and employers in Massachusetts.  These savvy companies use corporate aircraft -- including pistons, turboprops, bizjets, and helicopters, whether owned or chartered -- to accelerate their businesses.  MBAA also embraces support organizations, such as those that train new pilots and mechanics, sell and maintain avionics, provide ground support services such as fuel and catering, and many others. Individual aircraft owners throughout Massachusetts who fly for both business and personal reasons are also members of our association.

Taken together, these companies and individuals have a tremendous impact on the Massachusetts economy.  They all belong to the MBAA because we provide them with the latest information, analysis, and advocacy on issues affecting their ability to fly to, from, and within Massachusetts safely and productively.

A Message From Our President

"Welcome to the MBAA!  We're committed to promoting and advocating on behalf of business and general aviation within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Business and general aviation have long been key contributors to the economic well-being of the people of Massachusetts. The airports in our state, from the smallest to the largest, are just as critical as our highways and railways in meeting our transportation needs. The commercial airlines have cut back their flight schedules, inconveniencing millions of business travelers and leaving communities such as Bedford and Worcester with limited commercial flights if any at all. The TSA is seeking increased oversight of general aviation with the Large Aircraft Security Proposal (LASP), new screening procedures are more invasive, and Congress is increasingly becoming more hostile to the general aviation sector with untenable requirements to divest aircraft ownership and leases to companies in need of bailout money.

Now more than ever, regional, national and global businesses based in Massachusetts need a vibrant private aviation sector to compete in the 21st century, as nimbleness can make the difference between success and failure; between more jobs and more layoffs. Leaders within our state’s business and general aviation sector need an organization through which we can educate others about the contributions of private aviation to our state’s general welfare, and advocate for improved safety, security, efficiency of operation as well as environmental awareness.

MBAA's role is to speak out in support of business and general aviation to help ensure we continue to have a healthy aviation sector within Massachusetts in the future.  If you or your company are involved in aviation and are not already a member, please join with us in support of aviation in and for our Commonwealth.  Thank you."
